Subject: Invite: Messages of Peace for Okinawa, May 24
On the occasion of International Women's Day for Disarmament, and the the invite of Okinawan peace activists who recently visited O`ahu last month, Hawai`i Okinawa Peace Network will be sponsoring a "work" day to make messages of peace and solidarity between Okinawa and Hawai`i, to be displayed throughout Okinawa.
May 24, 2000 (Wednesday), 6 p.m., Jikoen Hongwanji (temple @ Likelike and School St. ih Kalihi); pre-school area.
The messages, written, drawn, painted, etc. on hankerchief size fabric, will strung on "peace poles" throughout Okinawa, as messages of hope and peace during the G-8 Summit meeting in Okinawa this summer. Feel free to express your creavitity, or sign on a larger sign. supplies will be provided. also, feel free to bring friends, family, etc.

* if you are interested, but cannot make this meeting; however, would like to submit a sign on your own, please call pete (any type of design, approximately the size of a hankerchief; can be larger, but not the size of a banner, bedsheet, etc.)
